Best time to visit Seville?

There is such little rain throughout the year that there’s no need to discuss a dry or wet season here. Annual temperatures do vary, however, which we’ll look at now.

The infamous hot wave is between June and September, which can get overbearing at times. Average temperatures here range from 76-81°F, with highs of 96°F and lows of 64°F.

The more relaxed period comes between October until May, and is better for those who don’t like scorching heats. Average temperatures range from 51-69°F, with highs of up to 81°F and lows of 43°F.

Things to Do in Seville

Cathedral of Seville

The Cathedral of Seville is one of the most popular landmarks in the city. It’s called the Catedral de Santa María de la Sede and it’s the third-largest church in the world.

The architecture of the building is impressive and the interior design is breathtaking. There are works of art by Spanish artists all over and it’s the location of Christopher Columbus’ tomb.

Once you’re done exploring the Cathedral, you can head to La Giralda, which is the attached bell tower.

This is one of the few remaining parts of the mosque that used to be there before the Cathedral was built.

Barrio Santa Cruz

The Santa Cruz neighborhood is a must-visit while you’re in Seville. Not only for a boutique stay at the Hotel Casa Del Poeta but even just a stroll through the historic streets to admire all the traditional buildings.

However, this is only half of the fun...

Barrio Santa Cruz is the city’s historic heart because it’s the oldest part of Seville and it used to be the city’s Jewish Quarter.

Though it can be a bit confusing, getting lost in the streets of Santa Cruz is all part of the fun in the experience.

Royal Alcázar of Seville

The Royal Alcázar is easily one of the most iconic places to visit in Seville and it’s a UNESCO world heritage site.

It was built by the Moors in 913 and it’s a combination of Moorish, Mudejar, Gothic, and Renaissance architecture.

The building itself is full of details and it’s easy to get lost in its beauty. If you’re a Game of Thrones fan, make sure you visit the Patio de las Doncellas, which served as one of the settings for Dorne.

Plaza de España

The Plaza de España is one of the most popular attractions in historic Seville and it’s not difficult to see why.

It’s one of the most beautiful places you’ll ever see and you’ll enjoy exploring it. The plaza has an oval shape, it’s surrounded by a moat canal, and the long pavilion features exquisite tilework.
